Creating holistic learners in a broad inquiring
curriculum that fosters a love of learning and
cultivates creative minds.
We are a primary school (Year 1-6) on the picturesque south coast of Wellington. When you arrive here at Island Bay, you will have a real sense of place, from the bay to the city. We are committed to giving all students the best education possible.
Our vision for learning to “ Explore, Extend and Empower ” is brought to life by our curriculum that recognises that there are unique realities for the learner that deserve recognition in the design of learning and schooling. We want learning that matters, that makes a difference in learners’ lives, that is creative, connected to meaningful, relevant and deep contexts.
Through an inquiry model, Island Bay School endeavours to integrate all of the learning areas from the New Zealand Curriculum into their teaching and learning. Our curriculum document unpacks what our learning looks like in detail.
We welcome new students to Island Bay School. To find out more click below.

To view and order your photographs:
1. Go to our website at https://www.inspirephotocart.co.nz
2. Log in or create an account. This is an important first step as it should save the passwords you use and should stop you having to re-enter the passcode every time you wish to view the images.
3. Enter the unique codes on the info leaflet(s) sent home with your child(ren) – there are multiple codes; (1) for individual/sibling shots (starts with G), (2) for class, hub and extracurricular groups (start with X). Informal groups codes are same as formal class group codes.
If you have misplaced the codes, please contact the school office admin@islandbay.school.nz. We would recommend getting in touch as soon as possible if there are any issues with your code so this can be sorted ASAP, as we will not be working during the weekend that this gallery is closing.
4. Save the images you would like to purchase to your ‘Favourites’
5. Groups code: Save the relevant class groups to your ‘Favourites’. Please check your child’s name is spelled correctly and let us know before end of fundraising ordering period if amendment is needed.
Please check your order confirmation email closely and get in touch if you are unsure about what you wanted to order does not match what you have entered on your order. Incorrectly-ordered prints can not be swapped or reimbursed.
If you require an alternative method of ordering, have any questions or require assistance with navigating the ordering software, then please feel free to call or email us: orders@inspirephotography.co.nz. The more questions we receive the better we become at informing parents about this process.
The gallery closes at midnight on Sunday 30 April 2023 and orders placed before the gallery closes aim to be dropped off at your school by 15.05.23. Orders to be posted will be processed at the same time as the prints that are to be returned to the school. Digital files are purchased as is and retouching requests may incur fees.
The gallery will remain live and online for up to 12 months after the main ordering period closes, postage and packing fees may also apply as drop off at school is not available with late orders. The school does not receive any fundraising donations on sales after the main ordering period finishes.
Kind regards,
The Inspire Team.
