Kia Ora Whaanau,

Wed Nov 23 05:56am

This is just a reminder about the two teacher only days we have coming up. While both of these have been on the calendar and in the newsletter, we thought it might be helpful to send a reminder.

The first TOD is this Friday the 25th November.

The second TOD is next Friday the 2nd December.

Thanks.

Values and Academic Prizegiving’s

Mon Nov 21 11:05pm

Kia Ora,

Just a reminder of our two Prize giving’s which are coming up.

The Values Prizegiving is on Thursday the 1st December starting at 7pm (please arrive from 6.30pm to be seated). This Prizegiving is where we celebrate students who have demonstrated our school values positively throughout the year and put effort into everything they do. We also present many of our Major Awards and Trophies at this Prize Giving, particularly for demonstrating leadership, citizenship and effort.

The Academic Prizegiving is on Tuesday the 6th December starting at 7pm (please arrive from 6.30pm to be seated). This Prizegiving is where we celebrate students who have achieved at a high level academically and where we present major academic awards and the School Dux.

It would be wonderful to see as many of our school community as possible at both of these special events to help us celebrate the success our students have had this year.

As these are formal events the dress code for students is correct and tidy uniform.

Sports prizegiving tonight at 6.30pm

Tue Nov 08 09:44pm

Kia ora, this is a reminder that Sports prizegiving is tonight in the hall at 6.30pm. This is a celebration of all school sports. If you have played sport for the school, this is for you, though everyone is welcome of course. The dress code is smart casual, (collared shirts for senior boys), full school uniform with shoes is also suitable.
We hope to see you there!

Year 7 and 8 will be back on site on Monday. Thank you keeping them home today, we greatly appreciate your support.

COVID

Thu Nov 03 02:18am

Kia ora te whaanau,

This afternoon we have had multiple staff test positive for COVID, and have had a small number of notifications for students who also have COVID. We have spent the afternoon trying to find relievers to cover staff, however even the relief agency is unable to supply us with relievers tomorrow. Unfortunately because of this we would like to ask that any students in Year 7 and 8 who can work from home tomorrow, please do, as this would be greatly appreciated due to being unable to cover all the classes. Students in Year 7 and 8 who come to school tomorrow will be put all in one class to do work for the day, so will not follow their normal timetable.

Please watch your children carefully for COVID symptoms and if they present with any, please test them. If your child tests positive for COVID it would be helpful for you to let the office know through the usual attendance channels, so that we can continue to monitor the spread through the school. It would also be helpful to remind your children to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the day to reduce the spread. Currently household contacts are not required to isolate, only the person with COVID. We appreciate your support as we continue to combat this illness.

We will review our situation tomorrow morning and communicate any other relevant information to you before the end of the day.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for our annual Ag Day. It is a cash only event.

Fri Oct 28 05:45am

ATHLETICS DAY apopo!!! (tomorrow) Nau mai haere mai.

Thu Oct 27 04:36am

Students can wear house colours to school – no uniform needed.
Please also bring hats, sunscreen, warm clothes, water and kai and a towel to sit on… be prepared for all types of weather!

We will try to start as close to 9am as possible.
Boys will be on track events in the morning
Girls will be on field events in the morning
Then… break in the middle of the day, and swap around.

There will be programs for you to pick up from the new wooden deck area – We ask if whaanau can sit in this area or down by the finish line please. Or you a free to wonder around the field events too.
Students will be asked to sit in the designated area at the front of the school only while on track events!

We are looking forward to a fantastic day with everyone!

(and then another one on Saturday for Ag Day!)

Ag day Hamper Raffle

Tue Oct 18 01:15am

We would appreciate your support in donating 2 non perishable food/grocery items towards these hampers, and will give families 10 tickets to sell at $2 each to family and friends. These will be given out to students by their teachers and can be sold over the holidays.

Grocery items to be dropped off at school by Friday 21st October.

Power update

Thu Sep 29 10:10pm

We have been advised that the power will be off for a longer period of time. Due to the school having no water we now are required to close. Parents are asked to go to the office to sign their children out. Students who are Year 9 and below will require an adult to be able to leave or permission from their caregiver to walk home if they live close to the school. We will hold any students on site who cannot be collected and the buses will run for these students at the end of the day.

Power outage

Thu Sep 29 08:47pm

Kia ora e te whaanau,

We are currently experiencing a power outage which has been off for 40mins. Counties power are unable to tell us how long it will be before the power is back up. Power being off is a health and safety issue as we have no water for toilets. We will be making a decision at 11am as to whether the school can remain open. This decision will be communicated on the facebook page and app.

COVID update

Mon Sep 12 07:57pm

With the government’s decision to remove the traffic light system for COVID, it is no longer recommended to wear masks in school settings. However, if your children wish to do so they are more than welcome. Household contacts are no longer required to isolate; however, they are asked to test each day for 5 days instead. If your child tests positive for COVID they are still required to isolate for 7 days.
